About the role
This is a senior business analyst contract supporting digital client and account onboarding for a wealth management modernization program at a major bank in Toronto. It suits an experienced BA who can lead requirements work in an Agile squad and bridge business, technology and compliance teams. The team is building digital onboarding experiences covering account opening, funding and client servicing for Wealth Management advisors and clients.
What you’ll do
- Translate business objectives and regulatory requirements into delivery-ready product increments with the Product Owner
- Lead discovery, documentation and refinement of requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria and process flows
- Ensure epics and features are sized and ready for development
- Act as the go-to contact for business requirement clarification within the squad
- Evaluate client and advisor journeys to find simplification and automation opportunities
- Facilitate workshops across Business, Operations, Technology, Compliance, Legal and Risk
- Support backlog refinement, sprint planning, release planning and retrospectives
- Validate solutions and confirm business readiness for release with Quality Engineering
- Coach junior business analysts on requirements management and Agile delivery
What they’re looking for
- 7+ years of business analysis experience on large-scale business and technology transformation initiatives
- Strong understanding of Agile delivery: backlog refinement, story mapping, sprint planning, user stories, acceptance criteria
- 5+ years performing current-state analysis, target-state design, gap analysis and process re-engineering
- Understanding of Wealth Management regulatory and risk topics including CIRO, AML, Fraud Management and KYC
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, MS Visio, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
Nice to have
- Experience within Wealth Management, Asset Management, Banking or Financial Services
- Proficiency with SQL and data analysis tools
- Proficiency with Postman and API testing tools
What’s on offer
- Contract role, Toronto, hybrid with onsite expected 4 days a week

- Standard 37.5 hour week, 9am-5pm Monday-Friday, possible overtime
