About the role
This is a full-time permanent Assembler and Packer position at Mircom's Vaughan, Ontario head office. You'll assemble electronic components and finished units, carry out production checks, and move completed products through packing and storage.
What you’ll do
- Read work orders, drawings, sample assemblies, and verbal instructions.
- Align components in fixtures and join parts using hand tools, power tools, and production equipment.
- Mount electronic components on circuit boards and chassis panels.
- Connect wires and component leads using soldering, welding, or related methods.
- Install assemblies in cases and cabinets.
- Attach hardware such as clamps, knobs, locks, screws, wires, and switches.
- Perform coating, silk screening, masking, labeling, and trace-cutting tasks.
- Operate machines used to press, shape, or engrave components.
- Adjust materials to meet electrical or dimensional specifications.
- Perform visual, optical, and electronic inspections.
- Load PCBs into trolleys and pack panels and enclosures.
- Stock and deliver materials to raw-material or finished-goods areas.
What they’re looking for
- A high school diploma or vocational equivalent.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow instructions and drawings.
- At least three years of electronic assembly experience is an asset.
- Knowledge of electronic components and assembly is an asset.
- Comfort with touch-screen data entry and scanning.
- Ability to work accurately, reliably, and cooperatively under deadlines.
- Good spoken and written English communication.
- Ability to lift and move materials, including occasional loads over 50 pounds with assistance.
- Willingness to learn new production skills.
Nice to have
- Certification or accreditation for soldering electronic devices.
- Familiarity with ISO and IPC standards.
