About the role
This is an onsite senior business analyst contract role in Toronto, supporting a public sector I&IT initiative through Maracas Bay Consulting. It suits an experienced, incorporated BA who can elicit requirements and build current- and future-state process models for government clients. The engagement is a long-term, five-day-per-week onsite contract with a possibility of extension.
What you’ll do
- Elicit, analyze, document and validate business and system requirements.
- Facilitate stakeholder interviews, workshops and JAD sessions.
- Document business processes, business rules, use cases and user stories.
- Develop current-state and future-state process models.
- Create process maps, workflow diagrams and business models.
- Prepare business documentation, reports, presentations and recommendations.
- Develop strategies, business cases and cost-benefit analyses.
- Work with subject matter experts in public sector environments.

- Experience eliciting, analyzing and documenting business and system requirements.
- Extensive experience facilitating stakeholder interviews, workshops and JAD sessions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, Azure DevOps and Jira.
- Experience working in Agile, Scrum, Waterfall or hybrid environments.
- Experience with business, use case, conceptual and logical data modeling.
- Understanding of application development lifecycles, testing and change management.
- Experience developing business cases and cost-benefit analyses.
- Knowledge of UX principles, accessibility and service design methodologies.
- Familiarity with accessibility (AODA) and privacy requirements.
- Must be incorporated to apply.
