This is an on-site home child care provider position in Surrey, British Columbia, working in the employer's home and caring for children. What you’ll do

  • Change diapers and support toilet training according to the parents' approach.
  • Care for children and manage the household when parents are away.
  • Complete light housekeeping and laundry duties.
  • Travel with the family and assist with childcare and household responsibilities.
  • Bathe, dress, and feed children.
  • Guide behaviour using the parents' requested methods.
  • Teach hygiene and social skills.
  • Keep daily activity and health records.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy home environment.
  • Plan games, activities, and outings.
  • Prepare and serve nutritious meals.
  • Take children to school, appointments, and other activities.

  • Secondary school graduation.
  • One to two years of experience.
  • CPR certification.
  • First Aid certification.
  • A criminal record check and references.
  • Ability to handle loads up to 9 kilograms.
  • Patience, honesty, reliability, organization, flexibility, and sound judgment.
  • Strong spoken and written communication.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to relocate.

Nice to have

  • Experience working with children.
  • Experience supporting newcomers, youth, Indigenous people, or members of visible minorities is not required, but the employer lists related inclusion and mentorship supports.
