About the role
This is a senior firmware and FPGA engineering role in New York, New York or Sunnyvale, California for an engineer working on server-class AI infrastructure. You will develop FPGA functionality, integrate it with platform firmware and hardware, and validate systems across bring-up, debugging and production operations. What you’ll do
- Design and maintain FPGA logic for server and embedded platform functions using Intel or Altera devices and Quartus.
- Define interfaces between FPGA logic, BMC firmware, BIOS, CPLDs, sensors and board-management systems.
- Support hardware enablement, board bring-up and validation across hardware revisions.
- Debug failures spanning FPGA logic, firmware, BIOS, hardware interfaces and operating systems.
- Improve platform reliability, fault handling, telemetry and operational behavior.
- Coordinate with ODMs, silicon vendors and firmware partners on implementations and fixes.
- Build repeatable validation workflows, regression coverage and testing tools.
- Document FPGA architecture, interfaces, assumptions and test procedures.
- Participate in design reviews and mentor other engineers.

- At least 5 years of professional firmware, embedded-systems or FPGA experience.
- A bachelor's degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science or a related field.
- Professional experience with Intel or Altera FPGA devices.
- Strong Verilog or SystemVerilog RTL skills.
- Strong C or C++ skills for low-level firmware or platform integration.
- Experience with board bring-up, hardware validation and system debugging.
- Familiarity with I2C, SPI, UART, GPIO, PCIe or related interfaces.
- Ability to use schematics, specifications and device datasheets.
- Experience debugging across FPGA, firmware, BIOS and hardware layers.
- Comfort with Linux and Git-based development.
- Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
Nice to have
- Experience integrating FPGA functions with BMC firmware, BIOS or CPLDs.
- LTPI or similar platform-management interface experience.
- Knowledge of Redfish, IPMI, SMBus or related technologies.
- Server, data-center or hyperscale infrastructure experience.
- Experience with logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, JTAG or signal-capture tools.
- Python or Bash scripting for validation and test automation.
- Experience reviewing vendor firmware implementations.
- Ownership of firmware or FPGA features deployed at scale.
