About the role
This is a Director of Account Solutions Architecture role for an experienced technical leader based in San Francisco, California. You'll own the regional solutions-architecture function, build its management layer, and create the operating model that scales technical delivery across cloud, on-premises, and air-gapped environments.
What you’ll do
- Set regional strategy, operating processes, staffing plans, and capacity forecasts.
- Hire and develop managers and team leads.
- Define reference architectures, automation standards, deployment targets, and quality expectations.
- Partner with Sales, Field Engineering, Support, and Product leadership.
- Create enablement, certification, partner, self-service, and documentation programs.
- Act as executive technical sponsor for strategic accounts.
- Turn field evidence into product and platform recommendations.
- Own technical-delivery forecasting, including partner and services models.
What they’re looking for
- At least 5 years leading a customer-facing technical organization.
- At least 2 years managing managers or team leads.
- At least 12 years of total experience with infrastructure, platform, SRE, or solutions-engineering foundations.
- A record of scaling post-sales or field technical functions.
- Technical depth in Kubernetes, Helm, containers, networking, storage, and managed cloud services.
- Production Infrastructure-as-Code experience, preferably Terraform.
- Experience across AWS, GCP, Azure, and on-premises or self-managed deployments.
- Strong Linux or Unix command-line skills.
- Familiarity with ML workflows and MLOps platforms.
- Experience owning headcount and capacity models.
- Experience influencing product roadmaps with structured customer evidence.
- Experience leading distributed teams across countries and time zones.
Nice to have
- Deep Kubernetes design experience, including Operators and CRDs.
- Enablement, certification, or partner-delivery program experience.
- Regulated, sovereign, or air-gapped deployment experience.
- GPU infrastructure and distributed-training experience.
- Experience with developer tools or infrastructure products sold to engineering teams.
- SaaS, web-service, or distributed-systems operations experience.
