About the role
This is a senior engineering management role leading data engineering teams within Wells Fargo's Treasury Technology group, based on-site in Bengaluru, India. It suits an experienced engineering leader who can manage teams of engineers and engineering managers building liquidity applications at enterprise scale in a regulated financial services environment. Wells Fargo is hiring for this role within its Banking Platform Architecture organization.
What you’ll do
- Manage, coach and develop teams of engineers and engineering managers
- Ensure adherence to Banking Platform Architecture and non-functional requirements
- Partner with architects to shape technical strategy and target architecture, including cloud readiness and application modernization
- Act as technical representative for the product in cross-team planning
- Resolve technology roadblocks across code, build and deployment
- Escalate and remove impediments for scrum masters and teams
- Conduct peer reviews and guide design decisions
- Manage security, stability and scalability within moderately complex technology functions
- Partner with product managers on roadmap and technical strategy
- Interact with third-party vendors and technology service providers
- Manage people and financial resource allocation
- Hire and develop engineering talent, including performance management

- Experience with Spark, Kafka, Airflow, Databricks, Apache Iceberg, Redis
- Experience with Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift or Dremio
- Programming experience in Java, Python, SQL, Angular
- Experience with Azure or GCP cloud platforms and enterprise security controls
- Experience in AI-driven modernization
- Experience with distributed systems, APIs and microservices
- Experience with data quality, lineage, reconciliation and governance frameworks
- Experience with DevOps and infrastructure-as-code practices
