This is a principal, hands-on AI engineering role at Wells Fargo within the AI Platforms and Enterprise Execution Group, based in the San Francisco area with hybrid work. What you’ll do
- Act as a trusted advisor to business and technology executives on enterprise AI strategy
- Lead strategy, architecture and delivery of enterprise-scale AI, cloud and modernization initiatives
- Translate business objectives into scalable engineering solutions and reusable AI-enabled platforms
- Partner with senior executives and engineering teams to define AI roadmaps and success metrics
- Mobilize cross-functional initiatives and serve as senior technical authority on platform and AI decisions
- Drive AI opportunity discovery and executive ideation sessions
What they’re looking for
- 7+ years of engineering experience
- 7+ years of senior engineering experience including architecture and hands-on delivery of large-scale systems
- 4+ years developing or deploying AI-powered tools, chatbots, LLM-based automation or agentic workflows
- 3+ years hands-on with cloud architectures (GCP, Azure, AWS) and internal platforms such as Tachyon
- 3+ years operating at both keyboard-level technical depth and executive-level technical storytelling
Nice to have
- Experience leading technology strategy within agile product operating models in large enterprises
- Financial services experience preferred; Business Banking domain experience beneficial
- Ability to mentor senior technical talent and establish engineering standards
- Experience evaluating, prototyping and scaling generative and agentic AI capabilities
- Experience delivering technology in highly regulated industries
