About the role
Versapay is hiring a Senior Director of Enterprise Data Management to lead its B2B payments platform data strategy from a remote role in Canada. This director unifies data architecture, governance, AI readiness, and commercial data products across the organisation. The role reports into the CTO and shapes the enterprise data roadmap spanning architecture, semantics, governance, and accessibility. You will operationalise data governance, prepare infrastructure for ML pipelines and agentic serving, and commercialise external data products.
What you’ll do
- Define and drive enterprise data strategy aligned to product, AI, and commercial objectives
- Lead architectural convergence of transactional, operational, and analytical data into a unified backbone
- Establish canonical hierarchies, enterprise ontologies, and shared metric catalogues
- Operationalise data governance through automated classification, RBAC enforcement, and certified data objects
- Maintain an Executive Data Health dashboard and Enterprise Data Asset Registry
- Drive data infrastructure readiness for ML pipelines, LLM serving, and agentic tiers
- Establish schema contracts and semantic modelling standards for safe agent deployment
- Govern sensitive data and external data products for quality, lineage, privacy, and compliance
- Operationalise external data products and partner with Commercial on recurring revenue strategy
- Lead and grow the Data Platform Team in partnership with Embedded Analytics, Risk, and Compliance

What is the salary range?
CAD 190,000 to 230,000 per year.

Ten-plus years in data leadership, including five-plus at Director level.
What data platforms are used?
Snowflake is preferred, along with lakehouse architectures, ETL frameworks, and AWS-native tools like Glue, SageMaker, and Bedrock.
