Turner & Townsend is hiring a utility project manager for West Coast EV construction due diligence in the United States. The role is for a project professional with West Coast utility-company experience who can assess prospective sites, utility service applications, approvals, and development risk. You’ll lead technical and legal diligence before construction, coordinate specialist consultants, and translate findings into feasibility decisions.
What you’ll do
- Evaluate prospective sites for structural, MEP, and utility-infrastructure constraints.
- Produce concise go or no-go feasibility reporting for stakeholders.
- Assess whether existing site conditions support the intended build-out.
- Review zoning, land-use rules, building codes, and approval pathways.
- Oversee review of surveys, title commitments, and Phase I or II environmental assessments.
- Define landlord and tenant work responsibilities within lease work letters.
- Review tenant-improvement requests against verified site conditions.
- Manage environmental, geotechnical, civil, and structural consultants and audit their deliverables.

- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field.
- West Coast residence and availability during West Coast business hours.
- Experience working with West Coast utility companies.
- Three to five years handling nationwide utility new-service applications from submission through completion.
- Strong organization, communication, detail management, and ability to handle changing priorities.
- Comfort working in office and field environments, with occasional travel.
Nice to have
- Energy-modeling experience.
- Experience with utility GIS databases.
- Exposure to EV infrastructure or service-center construction.
- Power BI, Smartsheet, or Procore experience.
- Knowledge of EV systems, charging infrastructure, or fleet operations.
