About the role
This full-time remote US role is for an experienced mechanical construction estimator with data center or mission-critical project experience. You’ll develop mechanical cost estimates, assess project scope and risks, and provide cost-management and value-engineering guidance to project stakeholders. The role is with Turner & Townsend, a project and cost management firm.
What you’ll do
- Prepare detailed mechanical-system estimates for construction projects.
- Review plans and specifications to establish scope and material needs.
- Develop cost-management plans with project teams.
- Analyze risks and recommend value-engineering options.
- Create formal estimating reports covering quantities, costs, escalation assumptions, and clarifications.
- Advise clients, contractors, and project stakeholders on estimating matters.
- Help develop estimating standards and practices.

- A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering, or a related construction field.
- Five to seven years of relevant experience.
- Data center construction, mission-critical construction, or transferable experience.
- Experience supporting program-level cost management for medium- or large-scale construction projects.
- Knowledge of value management and value engineering.
- Strong client-facing communication skills.
