About the role
This is a director-level technical leadership role at Nearform, a digital consultancy, based in the Eastern time zones of Canada. It suits a senior technical leader who can set architecture vision, advise client executives and manage delivery across multiple consulting projects. The role sits within Nearform's Delivery Management function, working alongside designers, developers and DevOps engineers.
What you’ll do
- Define and communicate a clear technical vision and best practices in architecture
- Act as the final authority in critical design and delivery decisions
- Serve as a trusted advisor to CIOs, CTOs and senior stakeholders
- Lead discovery workshops and develop tailored solution proposals
- Oversee technical execution, ensuring quality, scalability and maintainability
- Monitor project health and identify delivery risks
- Work with resourcing teams to staff the right talent on projects
- Manage project burn-down and optimize resource allocation
- Contribute to industry thought leadership and mentorship
What they’re looking for
- 15+ years of technical leadership experience, ideally in consulting, SaaS or digital transformation
- Deep expertise in software architecture, cloud platforms and modern development practices
- Track record guiding technical decisions on complex, high-impact projects
- Experience leading pre-sales, discovery and solution design discussions
- Strong ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Hands-on experience with AI, databases and distributed systems
- Experience leading and mentoring senior software development teams
Nice to have
- Experience working in a fully remote, globally distributed environment
- Background in financial oversight of technology projects
- Experience contributing to open-source projects or technical thought leadership
- Prior exposure to AI-driven solutions
