About the role
This is a director-level operational governance role covering Retirement & Wealth functions, fully remote for candidates in several Canadian provinces. You'll oversee programs spanning risk and compliance, third-party management, business continuity and records management, connecting business, technology and compliance teams. The role suits an experienced governance leader comfortable influencing across a complex matrixed organization.
What you’ll do
- Lead operational governance programs advising senior leaders on risk, compliance, resilience and third-party requirements
- Maintain governance frameworks, controls, documentation and annual roadmaps
- Coordinate governance reviews, attestations, control testing and audit responses
- Track program performance, risks and milestones, escalating issues as needed
- Lead execution of Third-Party Risk Management and Vendor Management programs
- Coordinate business continuity planning and resilience testing
- Oversee governance for End User Computing Solutions and other operational risk programs
- Develop executive dashboards and reporting on risks and program health
What they’re looking for
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with 8+ years in business operations, operational risk, governance or compliance
- Strong knowledge of operational risk, controls and governance frameworks
- Proven experience leading complex cross-functional programs through influence
- Strong program management and analytical skills
- Experience designing governance processes, metrics and reporting frameworks
- Strong executive communication and stakeholder management capabilities
Nice to have
- Financial services experience, particularly in retirement, wealth, asset management, insurance or banking
- Knowledge of third-party risk management, resilience, records management and regulatory examinations
- Experience with governance platforms such as Archer, Fusion, Ivalua, Process Unity or SharePoint
