About the role
This is a 12-month fixed-term analytics engineering role at ITV in London, building data products for the Insights Group. It suits an analytics or data engineer who wants to design SQL-based pipelines and dimensional models supporting content and audience decisions. The role reports to the Lead Analytics Developer and works closely with the Head of Analytics and Data Science.
What you’ll do
- Design and structure SQL-based analytical pipelines following analytics engineering best practices
- Maintain the M&E KPI pipeline, iterating on metrics as business needs evolve
- Connect Dataform to GitHub for code sharing and version control
- Design data quality checks and automated tests with proactive Slack alerts
- Support User Acceptance Testing on newly developed data products
- Collaborate with analysts and insights managers to build tables for dashboards
- Drive migration of legacy processes to BigQuery notebooks and pipelines
- Rebuild and maintain ITVX streaming data as a dimensional model using dbt
- Document data products for the wider business
- Build automated API connections and audit new data sources
- Help standardize data models, core metrics and processes
What they’re looking for
- 2+ years of experience in data analytics, data engineering or analytics engineering
- Advanced SQL proficiency
- Ability to design, build and automate ELT/ETL pipelines
- Experience with dbt or Dataform, alongside Git for version control
- Hands-on experience with GCP BigQuery or similar cloud data warehouses
- Understanding of data modeling and dimensional modeling (star/snowflake schema)
- Strong ability to profile and validate different data sources
- Interest in TV content and ITV
