About the role
This is a senior analytics engineering role at CX Data Labs, a consultancy that builds custom data and analytics platforms for clients, working on-site for a financial industry client in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. It suits an experienced analytics engineer comfortable owning AWS-based pipelines, dashboards and data quality processes. The role is currently temporarily remote.
What you’ll do
- Manage AWS resources including Glue, RDS, Redshift and Quicksight
- Develop scalable analytics tools, KPI dashboards and metrics
- Design and implement data quality processes across software systems
- Gather requirements from business customers and deliver complete data products
- Collaborate with other tech teams on advanced analytics algorithms
- Extract, transform and load data using SQL, Python, Spark and AWS big data tools
- Own the design, development and maintenance of data pipelines
- Automate and simplify ongoing reporting and self-service support
What they’re looking for
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, computer science, data science, statistics, finance or similar quantitative field
- 8+ years experience in Business Analytics, Data Science, Software Development or related field
- 5+ years experience with data warehouse solutions and databases (SQL, PL/SQL, HiveSQL, SparkSQL, Scala, etc.)
- 3+ years experience with BI reporting tools such as Tableau, Alteryx, PowerBI, Business Objects, QlikView, Quicksight or MicroStrategy
- Experience with statistical/analytics programming languages such as Python or R
- Experience with SDLC and agile concepts
Nice to have
- Advanced experience with data warehouse solutions and databases
- Experience analyzing large datasets for statistical analysis, prediction, clustering and machine learning
- Knowledge of data management fundamentals and distributed systems
- Proficiency building highly available distributed data extraction and processing systems
- Excellent discretion, judgment and executive presence
