About the role
Customized Energy Solutions is hiring a remote senior consultant in Texas to support wholesale-electricity market operations and consulting focused mainly on the Southwest Power Pool. This role suits someone with deregulated-power-market experience who can manage client operations, analyze market issues, and support generation and load participants. You’ll handle scheduling, settlements, resource registration, reporting, consulting projects, and business-development activity.
What you’ll do
- Coordinate scheduling and reporting for wholesale generation and load clients.
- Help register and test resources and market participants in the SPP market.
- Work with IT, SCADA, networking, and finance teams to support resource startup.
- Contribute to SPP-focused market-analysis and consulting projects.
- Prepare and refine project proposals with clients and prospective clients.
- Build settlement reports and monitoring tools for wholesale-market clients.
- Perform business-development activity to expand client relationships and service offerings.

- Advanced knowledge of RTO and ISO wholesale markets, especially SPP.
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- At least 5 years of experience in the deregulated electric industry.
- Research or consulting-services experience.
- Experience with generation assets and load in the SPP market.
- Strong analytical reasoning, communication, Microsoft Office, and project-prioritization skills.
- Understanding of generation-project financial modeling.
Nice to have
- Detailed knowledge of SPP rules and resource-registration processes.
- Microsoft SQL experience.
- Advanced education.
