About the role
This is a fully remote Product Owner role at a healthcare technology company, owning a revenue-generating platform that supports a $400 million payer portfolio. It suits a Product Owner who can run backlog prioritization, sprint planning and cross-functional delivery decisions. Permanent US work status is required, and work must be performed within the continental United States.
What you’ll do
- Collaborate with the Product Manager to fulfill product roadmap expectations.
- Run 'voice of the client' processes to define software requirements.
- Manage and prioritize the product development backlog.
- Describe business problems and personas via development methodologies.
- Write user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Provide visibility into development priorities, status and estimates.
- Make timely decisions to support product and team goals.
- Perform QA testing, including documentation.
- Confirm the product meets acceptance criteria and validate working software with clients.
- Work within a team of developers and other domain experts.
- Ensure compliance with privacy and security rules, including handling of Personal Health Information.
What they’re looking for
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent post-secondary education.
- Minimum 3 years dedicated Product Owner or Product Manager experience with full ownership of strategy, roadmap and backlog.
- Experience managing a mature, complex backlog in SaaS, platform, healthcare technology or enterprise software.
- Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum, including sprint planning and release planning.
- Ability to write clear, testable user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Experience partnering with and directing Business Analysts.
- Track record of balancing stakeholder priorities and making data-driven tradeoffs.
- Aptitude for software development processes, working with developers, QA and architects.
- Ability to translate complex business requirements into actionable solutions.
- Proficiency with Jira or comparable backlog management tools.
- Comfort working with APIs and data integrations without hands-on coding.
- Strong analytical skills, including interpreting SQL query results.
Nice to have
- Healthcare technology experience, including payer operations, medical record retrieval, HCC coding, risk adjustment or revenue cycle management.
- Experience supporting enterprise payer clients or health plans.
- Experience leading product initiatives involving platform migrations or consolidations.
- Familiarity with HITRUST, SOC 2 or similar compliance frameworks.
