About the role
This is a senior quantitative analytics role applying statistical and machine learning theory to risk, loss forecasting and capital requirements, based on-site in Bengaluru, India. It suits an experienced data scientist with a quantitative graduate degree who wants a partner-facing role supporting model lifecycle work in banking. The employer is Wells Fargo.
What you’ll do
- Perform highly complex activities related to creation, implementation and documentation of models
- Use statistical theory to quantify, analyze and manage market, credit and operational risk
- Forecast losses and compute capital requirements
- Provide analytical support for developing, evaluating, implementing and monitoring models
- Work with large datasets using SQL and present conclusions to stakeholders
- Mentor and coach junior data scientists
- Build quick prototypes to check feasibility and business value
- Work with technology teams to deploy models to production
- Prepare documentation complying with regulatory and audit requirements
What they’re looking for
- 4+ years of Quantitative Analytics experience, or equivalent through work experience, training or education
- Master's degree or higher in a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, statistics, engineering, physics or economics
- Hands-on exposure to Python, PySpark and SQL
- Expert knowledge of libraries such as scikit-learn, pandas, numpy and keras
- Experience with statistical models including linear/logistic regression and time series analysis
- Experience with machine learning models such as Random Forest, XGBoost, GBM and SVM
- Exposure to deep learning frameworks such as ANN, RNN, CNN and LSTM
- Strong understanding of model metrics including AUC, ROC and F-statistics
Nice to have
- Working expertise in TensorFlow, Keras or PyTorch
- Experience with Spark, Sparkling Waters, H2O or Caffe on Hortonworks/Cloudera or MapR
- Exposure to Google Cloud Platform
- Knowledge of banking products such as credit cards, mortgages or wealth management
