This is a remote senior/lead forward deployed engineer role at Valtech, open to candidates in Quebec, Ontario or British Columbia, for an engineer who wants to work directly with enterprise clients. What you’ll do
- Serve as technical lead for customer engagements, aligning business and engineering priorities
- Partner with executive sponsors and engineering teams on technology roadmaps
- Lead cross-functional workshops and solution design sessions
- Balance strategic leadership with hands-on architecture, coding and deployment
- Promote AI-native engineering practices and responsible AI use
- Mentor customer and internal engineers on modern development practices
- Design and implement scalable software integrating APIs, databases and enterprise platforms
- Design data integrations and pipelines across structured and unstructured sources
- Build and maintain integration layers with enterprise systems, identity providers and security controls
- Develop observability, monitoring and evaluation frameworks
- Troubleshoot production issues across distributed systems
- Maintain technical documentation and architecture decision records

- Strong software development background delivering production-grade applications
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools and agentic workflows in engineering work
- Architecture and systems integration experience across APIs, databases and enterprise systems
- Experience with structured and unstructured data sources
- Ability to work across diverse technology stacks and cloud environments
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Experience deploying cloud resources via Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code tools
- Experience leading technical discovery sessions with business and engineering stakeholders
- Experience integrating AI systems with enterprise IT infrastructure
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
Nice to have
- Master's degree or PhD in AI, Computer Science or Machine Learning
- Experience with multi-agent architectures and agentic AI systems
- Experience designing Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers and connector ecosystems
- Understanding of operational excellence for large-scale AI platforms
- Experience troubleshooting mission-critical AI applications in production
- Cloud or AI platform certifications (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Anthropic)
