About the role
This is a payroll-tax compliance analyst role in Pune for someone with 3–4 years of experience in US tax filing, payroll, or related compliance work. You will prepare filings and amendments, reconcile tax liabilities, resolve notices, and support client questions across federal, state, and local jurisdictions. The work combines deadline-driven case management with tax-system and agency-portal administration.
What you’ll do
- Prepare quarterly and annual payroll-tax returns using tax-filing systems.
- Process amendments and corrected returns from client requests.
- Support electronic filings, agency registrations, EFT setups, and reporting-authorisation submissions.
- Reconcile liabilities between payroll and tax-filing systems.
- Investigate out-of-balance conditions, tax variances, and historical client data.
- Research and respond to payroll-tax notices.
- Work with tax agencies and internal teams to resolve filing, payment, and account issues.
- Manage cases and documentation in Salesforce.
- Answer client and internal questions about filings, amendments, and notices.
- Use MasterTax, Salesforce, UKG systems, and agency portals.
- Support testing of system changes and participate in process improvement.
