- Design scalable architecture and choose the right technology for the job
- Own services and functionality built by the team

- Do hands-on development including the harder problems
- Make solutions production-ready, deployable, scalable and resilient
- Plan and deliver both team and personal work
- Mentor and coach teammates
- Establish product observability for reliability
- Use operational data to improve stability and performance
- Drive monitoring work per the org's monitoring philosophy
- Foster a security-first mindset and product security
- Integrate LLMs and GenAI features into core applications
What they’re looking for
- 7+ years of software design and development experience
- 5+ years building scalable backend applications
- Proven track record leading technical teams and driving products to completion
- Experience with Java, Python, Kotlin, microservices, Spring Boot or Micronaut
- Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, Cassandra
Nice to have
- Functional programming in Kotlin
- Designing and integrating GraphQL APIs
- Refactoring and modernizing older systems
- Security best practices including OWASP and secure coding
- Familiarity with Scrum, Kanban or other agile processes
