About the role
This is a senior data engineering role at Sparq, a digital engineering services firm, working hybrid or remote out of Costa Rica. You'll build the pipelines that migrate financial data from legacy Oracle databases into a new Oracle ERP system for a client engagement. It suits someone comfortable in SQL and PL/SQL who wants hands-on financial systems migration work paired with AI tooling.
What you’ll do
- Design and maintain data pipelines migrating financial data from legacy Oracle databases into Oracle ERP
- Write and optimize complex SQL and PL/SQL to extract, transform, reconcile and validate financial data
- Build backend integrations using APIs and middleware for enterprise data exchange
- Map financial data structures to General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Policy and Claims Administration workflows
- Partner with business analysts and accounting stakeholders to resolve data and integration issues
- Use AI tools including Claude to streamline daily work
- Perform data profiling, testing, reconciliation and root-cause analysis
- Monitor integration processes and troubleshoot failures
- Document data mappings, transformation logic and integration designs
- Participate in code reviews and solution design discussions
