This is a hands-on senior data engineer role building ETL and reverse-ETL pipelines in Python, SQL and Airflow, based in Hyderabad. What you’ll do
- Use AI coding assistants to generate SQL, Python and PySpark data pipelines
- Analyze query execution plans and refactor legacy SQL for performance and cost
- Generate test suites for data quality checks and schema drift detection
- Build and maintain complex, idempotent Airflow DAGs
- Develop batch and streaming pipelines using Python, Spark or Google Cloud Dataflow
- Design and implement Reverse ETL processes into tools like Salesforce, Tealium and Braze
- Maintain internal Python libraries and custom Airflow operators
- Conduct peer reviews on SQL performance and structure
- Translate architectural ERDs into optimized physical tables and views
- Refine CI/CD strategy for data alongside the Tech Lead and DevOps
What they’re looking for
- 6+ years in data engineering
- Expert-level Python 3.x and advanced SQL (window functions, recursive CTEs, optimization)
- 3+ years hands-on experience with Apache Airflow
- Strong experience with Google Cloud Dataflow, Dataproc, Spark or similar
- Deep understanding of ETL/ELT patterns and Data Lakehouse architecture
- Proven experience using AI coding assistants like GitHub Copilot, Claude Code or Cursor
- Experience mentoring junior engineers
Nice to have
- Experience with BigQuery and Dataform
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
