About the role
This is a senior hands-on AI engineering role at Roku in San Jose, California, embedding with business teams to build agentic AI systems. The engineer works directly with functions like Legal, FP&A, Accounting, Brand, Customer Support and Engineering to find and deliver AI automation opportunities. The role covers the full lifecycle from scoping through production deployment and adoption, not just prototypes.
What you’ll do
- Drive AI deployments from discovery through production rollout, owning the outcome end to end
- Embed with business and technical teams to identify high-value automation opportunities
- Prepare scopes of work and project plans for prototypes and full deployments
- Design, build, test and deploy production-grade agentic AI applications
- Reimagine how entire functions operate as AI-native, agent-powered systems
- Connect solutions to internal data platforms and enterprise APIs
- Lead onboarding, enablement and change management for served teams
- Track success through production adoption and measurable business value
- Codify reusable patterns into the broader AI platform strategy
What they’re looking for
- 5+ years of software engineering, full-stack, or technical deployment experience shipping production systems
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
- Strong software engineering fundamentals in Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript
- Hands-on experience building or deploying systems powered by LLMs, generative models or agentic frameworks
- Ability to work through ambiguity and make trade-offs under pressure
- Experience working directly with non-technical stakeholders

- Base salary between $242,200 and $486,000 for California
