About the role
This is a senior data engineering role at phData, a remote-first data and AI consultancy. What you’ll do
- Develop end-to-end technical solutions into production.
- Ensure performance, security, scalability and robust data integration.
- Write, debug and optimize SQL queries.
- Create and deliver detailed client presentations.
- Produce detailed solution documentation, including POCs, roadmaps and system views.
What they’re looking for
- At least 4+ years experience as a Software Engineer, Data Engineer or Data Analyst.
- Programming expertise in Java, Python and/or Scala.
- Experience with core cloud data platforms including Snowflake, AWS, Azure, Databricks and GCP.
- Client-facing English written and verbal communication skills.
- 4-year Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
Nice to have
- Production experience with Hadoop, cloud/distributed storage (S3, ADLS, HDFS, GCS, Kudu, ElasticSearch/Solr, Cassandra or other NoSQL).
- Experience with data integration tools such as Spark, Kafka, Streamsets, Matillion, Fivetran, NiFi or Informatica.
- Experience across multiple data sources such as queues, relational databases, files, search and APIs.
- Full software development lifecycle experience.
- Experience with dbt, Spark streaming and automated pipelines.
- Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow, AWS Managed Airflow, Luigi or NiFi.
