About the role
This is a hybrid senior quantitative analyst role in Mumbai on Morningstar's Systematic Strategies team. It suits an experienced analyst who can build investment analytics, dashboards and risk reporting using Python, PySpark and BI tools. The role supports portfolio management, investment research and benchmark analytics for a multi-asset investing group.
What you’ll do
- Develop investment analytics, portfolio monitoring, performance measurement and risk reporting.
- Build and maintain dashboards in Power BI, Tableau or Qlik Sense.
- Build and manage scalable data and reporting solutions for the research team.
- Handle large multi-asset financial datasets using PySpark and SQL.
- Automate reporting processes and integrate data from APIs and financial data providers.
- Partner with investment and technology teams to deliver data-driven insights.
What they’re looking for
- 4+ years of experience in investment analytics, BI or financial analytics.
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau or Qlik Sense.
- Advanced SQL and experience with Python and PySpark.
- Proficiency with Python libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, Seaborn and Plotly.
- Data modeling and API integration experience.
- Git or version control experience.
- Basic understanding of financial markets and investment concepts.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in a quantitative, financial, economic or engineering discipline.
Nice to have
- Exposure to AWS or other cloud services.
- Exposure to AI productivity tools such as Microsoft Copilot or GitHub Copilot.
- MBA.
- Progress toward CFA or FRM certification.
