About the role
MongoDB is hiring a Senior Software Engineer in Gurugram for a hybrid team that builds integrations between MongoDB and AI frameworks. You'll own integrations from early evaluation through release, maintenance, and upstream open-source collaboration. The team works with product, partner, field, and database-platform groups to support AI builders.
What you’ll do
- Build, test, release, and maintain integrations for AI frameworks and tools.
- Evaluate new frameworks and define an initial useful integration.
- Contribute code to upstream open-source repositories.
- Maintain testing, CI/CD, compatibility, and release practices across integrations.
- Monitor integrations, respond to breaking changes, and triage issues.
- Mentor engineers and help shape architecture and engineering practices.

- Five or more years building backend systems or developer-facing libraries.
- Strong Python and/or TypeScript proficiency.
- Experience designing, testing, debugging, and tuning software used by other developers.
- Ability to lead complex work independently amid changing requirements.
- Interest in AI frameworks, agentic workflows, RAG, retrieval, embeddings, or vector search.
- Strong written and verbal technical communication skills.
Nice to have
- Open-source contributions involving external maintainer review.
- Experience building AI integrations, MCP servers, agent skills, or plugins.
- Experience operating CI/CD and compatibility testing for libraries.
- Database internals, MongoDB query optimization, vector search, embeddings, or index-management experience.
- Knowledge of Java, Go, C#, Rust, Docker, Kubernetes, or usage telemetry.
