About the role
This is a senior data engineering role for building and operating scalable analytics, backend, and data-platform systems across a Pan-India hybrid setup. You will work on ingestion, warehouses, data models, APIs, distributed processing, cloud infrastructure, and production reliability. The role is aimed at an experienced backend engineer who can own data systems from design through operational support.
What you’ll do
- Build data services for analytics, reporting, machine learning, and AI workloads.
- Create ingestion pipelines using change-data-capture and event-driven designs.
- Develop analytical warehouses, data models, materialized views, and aggregations.
- Build APIs and backend services for reporting and analytics.
- Implement tenant isolation, governance, and access controls.
- Monitor freshness, ingestion lag, reliability, and pipeline health.
- Improve automation, observability, testing, and developer tooling.
- Own deployment, on-call support, and ongoing production improvements.

- At least five years of software engineering experience.
- Production experience with distributed systems, backend services, or data engineering.
- Strong Python and SQL skills, including data modeling and query optimization.
- Experience operating production systems end to end.
- Experience with cloud platforms and large-scale data transformation.
- Strong system-design, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to participate in on-call operations.
Nice to have
- ClickHouse, BigQuery, Snowflake, or Amazon Redshift experience.
- Kafka, Pulsar, Debezium, Flink, or Dataflow experience.
- Go or another strongly typed backend language.
- GCP data, messaging, and observability services.
- Terraform, PostgreSQL, TimescaleDB, or multi-tenant SaaS experience.
- AI, LLM, or agentic-workflow exposure.
- Experience with data governance and security.
