About the role
This is a senior systems testing and QA specialist contract role with the Ontario Health Services Cluster, onsite in Toronto or Kingston. The specialist ensures software quality across large-scale government systems by developing and executing test strategies, automated scripts, and performance tests. It suits an experienced QA professional comfortable in an Agile delivery environment with public sector experience.
What you’ll do
- Provide expert advice on testing strategy, test plans, and tool selection
- Plan and organize testing for large systems, including system integration and UAT
- Develop, maintain, and execute test plans, scripts, and cases across testing phases
- Identify, document, and track defects using tools like Azure DevOps, JIRA, ALM, TestRail, or Zephyr
- Develop automated test scripts using UFT, Selenium, TestComplete, or Postman, integrated into CI/CD
- Conduct performance, stress, and load testing using JMeter or LoadRunner
- Validate data integrity and accuracy across system components and databases
- Collaborate with developers to reproduce and resolve defects
- Participate in Agile ceremonies

- Senior-level expertise in system testing, including automated scripts and complex test plans
- Experience coordinating defect management throughout the testing lifecycle
- Hands-on experience creating test data with tools like SOAP UI, Swagger, or Postman
- Experience executing functional, integration, system, and regression tests
- Experience supporting UAT activities
- Experience creating testing strategy documentation and test plans
- Strong knowledge of QA principles and structured methodologies
- Experience with test management and defect tracking tools
- Familiarity with automation frameworks and API testing tools
- Experience with performance test scripts and bottleneck analysis
- Required public sector / OPS experience
Nice to have
- Programming or scripting language knowledge (Python, JavaScript, Bash)
- Experience testing COTS applications
- Knowledge of object-oriented testing methods
- Experience coding automated test scripts for full automated test case sets
- Knowledge of AODA accessibility standards
