About the role
This is a senior remote US role combining database engineering, software development and testing for federal healthcare technology systems. It suits an experienced engineer comfortable working across Oracle, SQL Server and Python in a security-conscious government environment. The role includes architecture assessment, integration testing and support for electronic health record systems.
What you’ll do
- Evaluate, implement, test and manage technology solutions for healthcare and enterprise applications.
- Develop architecture strategies, feasibility studies and integration analyses.
- Analyze application architectures and conduct risk assessments for testing environments.
- Support engineering and integration work involving Oracle, SQL Server and Python.
- Develop Python scripts and applications supporting integration and data analysis.
- Design and execute integration testing between applications and databases.
- Produce client-facing analysis reports and technical deliverables.
- Maintain architecture artifacts using established tools and repositories.
What they’re looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management or a related field.
- At least 10 years of IT experience including software engineering, systems integration and architecture analysis.
- Hands-on experience with Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server in UNIX, VMS or Windows environments.
- Strong software development experience, preferably Python, Java or J2EE.
- Experience designing test cases and conducting system integration testing.
- Eligibility to undergo a government investigation and obtain a security clearance.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with healthcare technology or VA/DoD environments.
- Experience with Oracle Health Millennium or a comparable EHR platform.
- Familiarity with HP Quality Center or Rational ClearQuest.
- Experience with AI tools for development, automation or data analysis.
