About the role
This is a full-stack engineering role building the AI systems behind an AI teaching companion aimed at early-learning educators, open to candidates based in India working fully remote. It's recruited by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and interviews directly. You'd own retrieval, generation and orchestration end to end, working across backend, frontend and infrastructure teams to ship AI features.
What you’ll do
- Own the AI capabilities powering the product, from retrieval and generation to orchestration logic
- Build retrieval experiences so educators can find relevant videos, printables and activities
- Build and refine pipelines that ingest and organize multilingual educational content
- Integrate AI capabilities across backend and frontend systems
- Design AI behavior, system prompts, personas, tool usage and guardrails
- Improve the quality, speed and reliability of AI-generated responses
- Set up evaluation frameworks, testing and monitoring for AI systems
- Build with child-safety and privacy considerations aligned to FERPA and COPPA
What they’re looking for
- 5+ years of software engineering experience across backend and frontend
- Hands-on experience shipping at least one production LLM or AI-powered application
- Strong experience building RAG systems including embeddings, vector databases and re-ranking
- Strong Python skills and backend fundamentals (APIs, databases, pipelines)
- Experience with LLM orchestration and prompt engineering using LangChain or similar
- Strong AWS experience across compute, storage, databases, containers and monitoring
- Working hours with meaningful overlap across UK and US time zones
- Right to work in India; no visa sponsorship offered
Nice to have
- Familiarity with managed model services like Amazon Bedrock or self-hosted inference
- Experience in educational technology or early-childhood education
- Experience with multilingual retrieval, video/audio ML, or privacy compliance frameworks like FERPA/COPPA
