About the role
This is a senior data analyst role turning complex scientific and operational data into business intelligence, fully remote for candidates based in Canada. You'll partner with business, product and engineering stakeholders, lead requirements workshops and user acceptance testing, and build analytics that support strategic decisions. The role suits someone experienced bridging business analysis with hands-on data work in a life-sciences-adjacent environment.
What you’ll do
- Analyze complex scientific and operational datasets to uncover trends and support strategic decisions
- Translate business processes and operational rules into clear data requirements
- Develop analytical solutions that improve visibility into KPIs and performance metrics
- Conduct ad-hoc analyses to investigate problems and provide actionable recommendations
- Lead requirements workshops and User Acceptance Testing cycles for new data products
- Create business flow diagrams and data flow diagrams to support solution design
- Perform data profiling, mining, validation and testing
- Collaborate with engineering, product and business teams to align requirements and delivery
What they’re looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field
- 5+ years writing complex SQL queries and performing data mining, profiling and validation
- 5+ years as a Business Systems Analyst or Data Analyst in a Data & Analytics discipline
- 5+ years organizing and leading User Acceptance Testing cycles
- Hands-on experience with Power BI, Tableau, Looker or MicroStrategy
- Experience working within Agile software development environments
- Must be based in Canada
Nice to have
- Master's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems or Computer Science
- Experience within the life sciences or biotechnology industry
