This is a fully remote data governance analyst role for candidates based in Canada. It suits someone who wants to build data quality standards, metadata management and governance controls at a large organization. What you’ll do
- Build data quality KPIs, scorecards and governance maturity dashboards
- Design data quality controls, profiling rules and root-cause analysis processes
- Partner with data owners and stewards to resolve data quality issues
- Document business metadata, glossaries and data definitions
- Maintain metadata repositories and data catalog content
- Develop governance policies, standards and documentation
- Classify and govern sensitive and consent-related data elements
- Document data lineage, flows and critical data elements
- Build reporting and monitoring using SQL, Python, Tableau, Cognos and Excel
What they’re looking for
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in business, IT, data analytics, computer science or related field
- 3+ years in data governance, master data management or data quality
- Experience building governance frameworks and documentation
- Experience with metadata/data catalog tools such as Alation
- Strong Tableau and advanced Excel skills
- SQL and large dataset experience
- Strong communication and stakeholder influence skills
Nice to have
- Knowledge of data quality platforms such as Informatica Data Quality
