What you’ll do
- Lead a team of data engineers and manage overall team performance
- Set goals, conduct regular 1-on-1s and provide constructive feedback to team members
- Mentor team members to support their career growth and technical development
- Recruit top talent and build team capabilities through hiring and internal development
- Own the strategy, roadmap and delivery of scalable, cost-efficient data infrastructure
- Design and oversee high-performance data stores, compute engines and orchestration systems
- Ensure data systems are resilient, observable and well-governed
- Implement robust recovery strategies and proactive monitoring practices
- Partner across engineering, analytics and go-to-market teams for data product delivery
- Drive innovation and efficiency using AI tools to support data strategy

- Expertise in data modeling, governance and quality management
- Experience implementing observability frameworks and SLAs
- Ability to lead and adapt in agile environments
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills

- Experience with Redshift, Trino, dbt, Airflow and Kafka
- Knowledge of Spark and Ray data processing frameworks
- Background building internal developer platforms or self-service tooling
- Understanding of lambda and kappa architectures
- Experience influencing upstream data design
- Exposure to data science and machine learning workflows
