About the role
GitLab is hiring an AI Transformation Owner to shape and deliver the AI strategy for their Product & Design function. This remote role suits a product-minded leader who can identify where AI can fundamentally change how work flows, prototype no-code and low-code solutions, and drive adoption across the organization. The position is open worldwide and fully remote.
What you’ll do
- Own the function's AI strategy aligned with executive sponsorship and business priorities, defining success metrics and tracking progress over time
- Map how work flows across the function end-to-end, including handoffs to other organizations, and identify structural constraints
- Focus on high-leverage problems where AI could let the org execute workflows orders of magnitude faster
- Manage intake of AI requests and pain points from across the function through a Champion network
- Partner with an embedded AI Engineer to prototype solutions at the no-code and low-code layer using tools like Glean and Workato
- Author and iterate on skill files that define how AI agents behave, and configure MCP servers to give agents access to business systems
- Own the fleet of agents, track KPIs, run evaluations after model or data changes, and rebuild when necessary
- Drive adoption through shared spaces, office hours, new-hire onboarding, and celebration of wins
What they’re looking for
- Deep knowledge of your function's operations, including how work moves and where it gets stuck
- Strategic prioritization skills with experience managing competing demands and thinking in terms of business outcomes
- A product management mindset with comfort defining success metrics and holding yourself accountable
- Strong communication and influence skills for saying 'not yet' and 'think bigger'
- Cross-functional instincts and experience building peer networks or communities of practice
- Comfort building with AI tools, configuring agents, and connecting MCP servers
- Willingness to quickly pick up no-code and low-code AI platforms and prompt engineering
- Conceptual understanding of AI capabilities including summarization, classification, generation, automation, and agentic workflows
What’s on offer
- US base salary range $203,200 to $345,600 USD (for US residents only)
- Flexible Paid Time Off
