This is a full-time, on-site senior controls engineering role in Louisville, Kentucky for engineers with at least five years of automated-manufacturing experience. You'll lead and support automation-equipment development, installation, troubleshooting, and improvement across manufacturing facilities. The work requires practical controls engineering, machine-safety knowledge, and collaboration with factory, quality, procurement, and operations teams.
What you’ll do
- Support capital-equipment projects from early concept through production launch.
- Work with design, lean, quality, EHS, procurement, and operations teams on new product introductions.
- Provide controls engineering support for automation, conveyance, packaging, fabrication, and forming equipment.
- Review supplier hardware and software designs for standards compliance.
- Help improve internal controls standards.
- Partner with robotics and automation engineers on practical solutions.
- Troubleshoot and continuously improve factory equipment and systems.
- Prioritize safe equipment and process design with EHS teams.
What they’re looking for
- At least five years of hands-on controls engineering with automated manufacturing equipment and processes.
- Experience with Rockwell Automation ControlLogix or CompactLogix, Studio 5000, and FactoryTalk View.
- Knowledge of machine-safety standards including ISO 13849 and ANSI/RIA R15.06.
- A bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent hands-on technical or manufacturing experience.
Nice to have
- Automation integration experience.
- Experience in large-scale manufacturing and capital-equipment procurement.
- AutoCAD and Microsoft Office proficiency.
- Experience with Rockwell, Emerson, or Siemens controls software.
- Knowledge of ladder logic, structured text, or function block diagrams.
- TUV machine-safety certification.
