About the role
This is a lead AI and machine-learning specialist solutions architect role based in Bengaluru, India, with a hybrid working arrangement. You'll advise customers and field engineers on production ML, GenAI, agentic systems, MLOps, and Databricks platform architecture.
What you’ll do
- Design production ML and AI workloads on the Databricks platform.
- Architect agent systems, RAG solutions, tool calling, evaluation, guardrails, and monitoring.
- Build and optimize customer workloads across training, inference, serving, and operations.
- Support solution architects during technical sales and complex customer engagements.
- Share customer needs with product and engineering teams to influence priorities.
- Mentor others and contribute to Databricks' wider ML subject-matter community.
What they’re looking for
- At least 5 years of hands-on industry machine-learning experience.
- Experience as an ML engineer or AI engineer working with production cloud infrastructure or modern LLM systems.
- Practical knowledge of vector databases, model fine-tuning, guardrails, Hugging Face, LangChain, and OpenAI.
- A graduate degree in a quantitative field or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong collaboration, learning, and business-value orientation.
Nice to have
- At least 2 years in a customer-facing pre-sales or post-sales position.
- Ability to travel up to 30% when needed.
