About the role
This is a senior technical leadership data science role at XPO, based in Hyderabad or Pune, architecting enterprise Generative AI and RAG solutions for supply chain operations. It suits an experienced data scientist ready to lead AI strategy, mentor a team and own the full MLOps lifecycle. You'll lead end-to-end AI development from research through vector database design, MLOps orchestration and live monitoring.
What you’ll do
- Design, build and deploy production-grade Generative AI, LLM applications and RAG pipelines.
- Build and optimize CI/CD workflows for ML using MLflow, Kubeflow and Airflow.
- Provide technical direction and mentorship to data scientists and ML engineers.
- Implement real-time monitoring for model drift, bias detection and performance degradation.
- Evaluate emerging AI research, frameworks and vector search engines.
What they’re looking for
- 7+ years of relevant hands-on experience in Data Science, Machine Learning and AI production engineering.
- Experience with Generative AI, Transformers, Diffusion Models and RAG pipelines.
- Experience with vector databases such as Pinecone, Weaviate or FAISS.
- Experience with MLOps and orchestration tools including MLflow, Kubeflow and Airflow.
- Proficiency in Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow and distributed training.
- Experience with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure or GCP.
Nice to have
- Strong background building and scaling multi-tenant AI systems in cloud environments.
- Hands-on experience implementing Responsible AI frameworks and model fairness.
- Track record translating business goals into production ML solutions.
- Domain expertise in freight transportation, logistics or demand forecasting.
- Experience with automated retraining triggers, canary deployments and feature stores.
- Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams in agile settings.
