Member Technical Staff - Applied AI Engineer (US Timing)
Skills
About the role
This is an on-site applied AI engineering role in Bangalore working US hours. It suits an engineer with 2-4 years of experience who wants to build agentic systems that take over customer support work rather than a traditional support job. The employer is Composio, a company building infrastructure that lets AI agents interact with workplace tools. You'd design agentic workflows for support, build evals and guardrails, and also debug and ship fixes directly when needed.
What you’ll do
- Build agentic workflows covering intake, diagnosis, response drafting and remediation
- Build tool-using agents that inspect logs, auth state and configuration
- Create eval suites for diagnostic correctness and resolution quality
- Build human-in-the-loop systems with explicit approvals and escalation paths
- Build observability, memory and feedback loops for agent improvement
- Own the hardest support issues end to end: reproduce, isolate, mitigate, ship
- Sit with customers and partner with support, product and engineering teams
- Move prototypes into reliable production workflows with traces and guardrails
What they’re looking for
- 2-4 years of professional software engineering experience
- Experience building production systems with language models, tool calling or retrieval
- Experience using evals, traces and failure analysis to improve AI systems
- Experience shipping and operating production backend, platform or integration software
- Ability to debug across SDKs, HTTP, OAuth, webhooks, queues and third-party APIs
- Strong communication skills and comfort working directly with customers
Nice to have
- TypeScript or Python in production
- Experience building AI agents, copilots, workflow automation or eval infrastructure
- Experience with a developer platform, API product, support engineering, SRE or incident response
- Familiarity with OAuth 2.0, webhooks, rate limits, Postgres, queues and cloud observability
- Experience with support systems such as Plain, Zendesk, Intercom or Salesforce
- Public technical writing or open source contributions
