About the role
This is a remote senior full-stack engineering role for a developer with at least five years of experience building and operating complex production systems. You will automate brokerage operations at Alpaca by replacing manual workflows with reliable, auditable software. The position combines Golang backend work, TypeScript and React interfaces, production operations, and collaboration with regulated financial-services teams.
What you’ll do
- Build and operate automations and user interfaces that remove manual operational work.
- Study operational workflows before designing replacement systems.
- Measure automation outcomes using operational metrics.
- Create proposals for broader platform tooling.
- Partner with compliance, security, and brokerage teams on auditable systems.
- Own deployment, monitoring, on-call participation, and incident response.

- At least five years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong hands-on Golang expertise, including concurrency and memory management.
- Experience delivering user-facing TypeScript and React features.
- SQL and relational-database proficiency, preferably PostgreSQL.
- Ability to model human workflows as systems.
- Experience with observability, tracing, and continuous profiling.
- Strong analytical, communication, and ownership skills.
