About the role
This is a senior business analyst contract supporting a banking client's AML and deceased/estate customer portfolio work in Toronto. You'll sit on a team improving customer journeys, requirements documentation and application-related workstreams for a financial institution. The role suits someone comfortable moving between Waterfall and Agile projects and writing detailed use cases and user stories.
What you’ll do
- Capture and document detailed system and business requirements
- Write use cases and user stories for banking process and application projects
- Map customer journeys, processes and system workflows
- Gather requirements by working directly with stakeholders and project teams
- Support fellow business analysts with detailed requirements documentation
- Work across Waterfall and Agile projects, adapting documentation formats as needed
- Judge priority and urgency independently
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams throughout delivery

- Over 10 years of business analysis or business systems analysis experience
- Strong track record writing detailed use cases and user stories
- Experience on both Waterfall and Agile projects
- Solid requirements gathering and documentation skills
- Understanding of technical and system requirements
- Experience with customer journey mapping, UI and online applications
- Strong communication skills and a flexible, proactive approach
- Comfortable working both independently and within a team
Nice to have
- Banking industry background
- AML/KYC regulatory project experience
- Experience on migration or data-heavy projects
- Familiarity with customer profile or account-opening processes
- Understanding of credit card application workflows
- Exposure to online banking platforms and interfaces
