About the role
This is a senior software engineering role on AVEVA's Core AI Services team, building cloud-native AI platform services and public APIs. It suits an experienced .NET and cloud engineer who wants to build the secure infrastructure that other AI products are built on, based in Bangalore or Hyderabad. The team builds scalable, fault-tolerant services on Azure and exposes them as secure, documented APIs and SDKs for internal and external developers. Beyond coding, the role includes mentoring, design reviews and helping the team adopt agentic and MLOps practices.
What you’ll do
- Design, develop and scale AI-enabling platform services and public APIs
- Build fault-tolerant, cloud-native services on Microsoft Azure
- Develop secure, well-documented public APIs and SDKs for internal and external developers
- Work across data pipelines, orchestration and service APIs to deliver end-to-end solutions
- Embed security controls to protect sensitive data and secure access to AI services
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews and architecture discussions
- Mentor junior developers and support a Scrum team's delivery of production-grade AI capabilities
What they’re looking for
- Extensive software engineering experience, including platform or cloud-native service development
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft and .NET technologies
- Strong expertise in RESTful API design, versioning, testing and lifecycle management
- Experience architecting and deploying scalable cloud-native services using PaaS, Docker and Kubernetes
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyse complex technical challenges
- Experience working in Agile teams across global R&D locations
Nice to have
- Experience with large language models and trade-offs between performance, cost and capability
- Understanding of retrieval-augmented generation, agent orchestration, prompt engineering and tool calling
- Familiarity with AI standards such as Model Context Protocol and Agent2Agent
- Familiarity with AI orchestration and agentic frameworks
- Experience with automated testing and evaluation of AI outputs
- Knowledge of AI ethics and regulations
