About the role
This is an onsite Research Engineer III role in Bengaluru for a senior AI researcher working on deep learning, computer vision, NLP and multimodal systems. You will develop models that interpret blueprints, drawings and PDFs for automated construction takeoff and estimation. The work covers experimentation, document understanding, model improvement and production handoff.
What you’ll do
- Develop computer-vision, NLP and deep-learning approaches for construction data.
- Build models that extract information from blueprints, scanned PDFs and SVG files.
- Contribute to multimodal systems joining visual and language features.
- Use data-centric development, experiment tracking, validation and reproducibility practices.
- Work with research, software and product teams to apply research in real products.
- Write scalable Python using PyTorch, TensorFlow or Hugging Face.
- Track relevant advances in computer vision and machine learning.

- Experience in AI research, applied AI or machine learning.
- Strong knowledge of deep learning, computer vision, NLP, LLMs and transformers.
- Python experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face and OpenCV.
- Experience with image processing, visual document understanding and representation learning.
- Knowledge of clustering, dimensionality reduction and feature extraction.
- Ability to work with PDF, SVG and blueprint data.
- Experience with model optimization, deployment or production AI workflows.
Nice to have
- Git and JIRA experience.
- Familiarity with AWS, GCP or Azure.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and ML deployment.
- Construction AI experience.
