About the role
This is a senior leadership role owning the financial systems that support Accounting at Affirm, open to candidates working remotely from Canada. It suits an experienced technical leader who has run enterprise ERP and EPM platforms and wants to lead a multi-year modernization effort. The team is responsible for NetSuite, Zip, Navan, Workato and BlackLine, and for the integrations connecting them to broader financial and operational systems.
What you’ll do
- Lead solution architecture, technical design, configuration, testing and deployment across the financial systems landscape.
- Define the enterprise architecture and technical roadmap for global ERP and EPM platforms.
- Architect and build integrations that ingest, transform, validate, reconcile and distribute financial and operational data.
- Partner with VPs and Senior Directors to align priorities and set a shared roadmap.
- Work with Product, Engineering and Accounting on technical sustainability, risk and trade-offs.
- Own system availability, monitoring, on-call rotations and incident playbooks.
- Set code review and design standards and advocate for them beyond the immediate team.
- Coach and develop team members, giving feedback and creating growth opportunities.
What they’re looking for
- 10+ years leading design, implementation and operation of enterprise ERP and planning platforms at scale (NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, Workday, Hyperion, Anaplan or similar).
- Experience integrating ERP and EPM platforms to support consolidation, close, intercompany accounting, allocations and reporting.
- Hands-on experience with integration technologies: REST/SOAP APIs, NetSuite SuiteTalk/SuiteScript, Oracle Integration Cloud, SAP CPI, MuleSoft, Boomi, Informatica, Fivetran, dbt, Snowflake, SQL, Python.
- Strong grounding in core accounting and finance processes: P2P, R2R, O2C, close, consolidation, planning.
- Experience designing data models, transformation logic, reconciliation controls and audit trails for financial systems.
- Understanding of governance, security and internal-control requirements for a regulated, public company.
- Experience with CI/CD tooling (Git, Azure DevOps, Jenkins) including version control and rollback procedures.
- Track record building and retaining high-performing teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication across technical and non-technical audiences.
