About the role
This contract Data Architect position is based in Toronto/GTA, Ontario, working onsite. You will provide data architecture direction for a Data Hub project, implementing data assets in AWS services including S3, Redshift, Glue, Athena, and EMR while establishing architectural standards and design patterns.
What you’ll do
- Provide data architecture direction and deliver architectural artifacts as part of the Applied Architecture group
- Work with internal business and technical stakeholders to gather input on data concepts and solutions
- Understand business needs and translate them into conceptual, logical, and physical data models
- Implement data assets in the Data Lake/Warehouse environment using S3, Redshift, Redshift Spectrum, Glue, Athena, and EMR
- Develop data architectural standards, design patterns, and schemas and conduct implementation reviews
- Review existing data architectures and provide feedback on Reference Architectures
- Deliver data architecture solutions for data versioning and integrations
- Support redesign and optimization of data pipelines based on AWS Big Data technologies
- Provide subject matter expertise and technical leadership on data architecture
