About the role
Mutt Data is hiring a Data Engineer Lead for a fully remote position to take ownership of end-to-end data migrations and architecture decisions. You will serve as the primary liaison between engineering, analytics, product, and business stakeholders across cloud data platform initiatives.
What you’ll do
- Lead end-to-end data migration initiatives across cloud platforms including AWS Redshift, Databricks, and related technologies
- Define and communicate data architecture decisions, evaluating impacts, risks, and performance considerations
- Coordinate discovery and documentation of dependencies, schema inventories, data flows, and critical processes
- Own migration and cutover planning including validations and contingency measures
- Translate technical changes in data pipelines and warehouses into clear business impact assessments
- Oversee data validation processes to guarantee accuracy and consistency of migrated datasets
- Identify, assess, and mitigate migration-related risks, escalating blockers and dependencies
- Create and maintain project documentation including migration runbooks, testing strategies, and rollback plans
- Provide regular project status updates to technical and executive stakeholders
- Promote data governance, quality, and operational best practices throughout the migration lifecycle
