About the role
This is a remote engineering contract focused on collecting, sanitizing, storing, and displaying developer-tool agent traces for a Turing AI infrastructure project. You will own the pipeline from endpoint OpenTelemetry capture through Azure ingestion, privacy scrubbing, storage, and trace viewing. The role suits an independent engineer with at least five years of production engineering experience and strong Azure and telemetry expertise.
What you’ll do
- Set up endpoint OpenTelemetry capture and OTLP export.
- Configure collector receivers, processors, and exporters.
- Build Azure ingestion and privacy-scrubbing services.
- Detect and redact secrets and personally identifiable information before review.
- Connect sanitized storage to a read-only trace viewer.
- Correlate tasks, sessions, and traces.
What they’re looking for
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience.
- At least five years of software, platform, or data engineering experience.
- At least three years working with Azure or a comparable cloud.
- At least two years building observability or telemetry pipelines with OpenTelemetry.
- Experience with OTLP, collectors, spans, traces, and semantic conventions.
- Knowledge of Azure PaaS, Python or Node.js, and Bash.
- Practical privacy, PII, secret-scrubbing, data-pipeline, and cloud-security experience.
Nice to have
- Grafana or telemetry-backend experience.
- LLM-agent or generative-AI observability experience.
- Cross-cloud identity federation between Azure and Google Cloud.
What’s on offer
- Compensation of $100 USD per hour.
- Fully remote contractor assignment.
- A three-month contract with an expected start the following week.
- At least four hours per day and 20 hours per week are required, including four hours of PST overlap.
