About the role
This is an onsite automation and digital transformation project role at Thermo Fisher Scientific in Mississauga, Ontario, within the Manufacturing Science and Technology group. It suits someone with a few years of digital/IT project experience who can lead automation initiatives and coordinate stakeholders in a regulated manufacturing environment. The position is a contract role working standard weekday hours.
What you’ll do
- Lead automation and digital projects from initiation through implementation
- Facilitate workshops to gather business requirements and document processes
- Define use cases in User Requirement Specification documents
- Develop project plans and communicate status, risks and deliverables to stakeholders
- Coordinate cross-functional teams, vendors and technical resources
- Design, configure, test and deploy automation and digital solutions
- Coordinate User Acceptance Testing and support issue tracking and resolution
- Support Computer System Validation activities for GxP computerized systems
- Use Quality Management Systems to generate change controls, deviations and CAPAs
What they’re looking for
- Post-secondary diploma in engineering, science, computer science, IT or related discipline
- Minimum 3 years of experience with digital technologies, automation, business process improvement, project management or computer system validation in a regulated environment
- Minimum 2 years of IT expertise with IT infrastructure and application implementations
- Working knowledge of GMP, GAMP 5, 21 CFR Part 11 and computer system validation principles
- Understanding of automation concepts, system integrations, APIs and data flows
- Experience with low-code/no-code platforms, scripting or reporting tools
- Familiarity with URS generation and UAT
- Strong analytical, organizational and stakeholder management skills
Nice to have
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering
- Exposure to a pharmaceutical environment
- Project management experience
