This is a senior technical leadership role in data engineering at Stryker, fully remote, focused on enterprise procurement analytics platforms. What you’ll do
- Lead architecture, development and modernization of enterprise data platforms for procurement analytics
- Define and execute a multi-year data engineering strategy for scalability and reliability
- Design and optimize Azure-based data solutions using Databricks, Delta Lake and Azure Data Factory
- Integrate and standardize data across multiple ERP systems into common models
- Partner with analysts, architects and stakeholders to translate business needs into data products
- Establish engineering standards, conduct architecture reviews and mentor engineers
- Identify AI-enabled approaches to improve development and data quality
- Evaluate tools and platform investments for performance and governance
- Support internal data products, APIs and analyst-facing applications
- Present technical recommendations and roadmap priorities to leadership
What they’re looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics or related field
- 6+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering or enterprise data platform development
- Experience architecting and modernizing scalable cloud-based data platforms
- Hands-on experience with Databricks, Delta Lake, Azure Data Factory, Azure DevOps and CI/CD
- Strong SQL and Python proficiency with Spark or similar frameworks
- Experience designing ETL/ELT pipelines and data warehouse or Lakehouse architectures
- Experience integrating and harmonizing data from multiple ERP or enterprise systems
- Experience with API integrations, REST services, security and data governance
- Demonstrated ability to set engineering standards and mentor without direct authority
Nice to have
- Master's degree in a related technical field
- Experience with procurement, supply chain, manufacturing or finance analytics
- Experience with SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, Oracle, JD Edwards, Infor, QAD or Microsoft Dynamics
- Full-stack experience with React, Next.js, Vercel and API development
- Experience with AI-assisted engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude
- Experience designing internal tools and analyst-facing data products
- Experience leading cloud modernization or platform migration initiatives
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau or similar BI tools
