About the role
This is a principal-level data architecture role at Quisitive, a consulting firm specializing in modern analytics and cloud solutions, available as a remote or hybrid position in Canada. You'll lead the design and delivery of scalable data platforms using Microsoft Fabric, Azure services and Databricks for enterprise clients. The role combines technical architecture, client-facing leadership and the responsibility for translating business requirements into secure, governed data foundations.
What you’ll do
- Lead the technical architecture and solution direction for client data and analytics engagements
- Design Microsoft Fabric, Azure, Databricks and hybrid analytics platforms aligned with business goals and governance requirements
- Architect data integration, lakehouse, data warehouse and semantic modeling solutions
- Design modern data models and analytics architectures using PySpark, SQL and Fabric-native services
- Lead technical decision-making and architecture reviews throughout project delivery
- Conduct discovery sessions and architecture workshops to understand client needs and business objectives
- Translate business requirements into practical, scalable technical solutions and effort estimates
- Present technical strategies, tradeoffs and cost recommendations to business and executive stakeholders
- Architect secure, governed data platforms that support reporting, analytics, automation and AI initiatives
- Establish approaches for data quality, source control, CI/CD, automated testing and cost management
- Enable AI initiatives by designing data foundations that support Copilots, AI agents, RAG solutions and intelligent applications
What they’re looking for
- 8+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, analytics engineering or business intelligence
- Demonstrated leadership of architecture and technical delivery for client-facing consulting engagements
- Experience designing and delivering Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Services and Databricks solutions
- Advanced knowledge of data modeling, dimensional modeling and semantic modeling
- Strong Power BI architecture and modern analytics architecture pattern expertise
- Experience designing governed and secure data architectures
- Proven ability to define delivery approaches including CI/CD, automated testing and deployment
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Demonstrated accountability for technical success of client engagements
Nice to have
- Microsoft Fabric certification or equivalent demonstrated Fabric architecture experience
- Microsoft Purview experience with data cataloging, lineage, metadata and governance
- AI and agent architecture experience including Copilots and RAG solutions
- Experience modernizing Azure Data Factory or Azure Synapse Analytics solutions
- Data governance and enterprise information management expertise
- Familiarity with Azure infrastructure, networking and security architecture
- Prior consulting or professional services experience
- Industry experience in Manufacturing, Financial Services, Healthcare or Government
